Australian hyperrealist sculptor Ron Mueck just had an exhibition of his work in Melbourne at the National Gallery of Victoria. I missed it…but I will try and make it to Brisbane. I think his work is beautiful. First sculpture I saw was Pregnant Woman at the National Gallery of Art in Canberra. The woman standing with her eyes closed, naked at the end of her pregnancy is one of the most beautiful works of art I have seen. I couldn’t get hold of an image of Pregnant Woman, but here is Mask self portrait.
